That book was called "The Science of Getting Rich" and was written by one of those great thinkers, Wallace D. Wattles. In his syllabus in "The Science of Getting Rich" Wattles states: "There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought in this substance produced the thing that is imaged by the thought. You can form things in your thought, and by impressing your thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing you think about to be created." This is a perfect analogy of the point Bob is trying to make in this chapter. Spend some time over the next day or two to sit quietly and review this chapter, remembering that there is a power within you that is ever present and will give you whatever you ask for. If you continue to hold those thoughts, you will attract more of the same. Remember Napoleon Hill’s quote "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." This is where our new thinking comes into play. We must realize that our current results or our current bank balance, health, position at work etc. is nothing more than a physical manifestation of our previous thinking. We should be good to ourselves, create beautiful pictures of the lives we want, see an over abundance of money, and do not allow our physical world or our current results to control our thinking. We all have an infinite source of supply that is available to all of us - THINK BIG. When the great artist, Vincent Van Gogh was asked how he did such beautiful work, he said "I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream." He saw the picture in his mind FIRST, and then he made a replica on canvas. Visualize a great life of wealth and abundance and feel yourself already in possession of it. Mentally and physically play with money until you are comfortable with it. Be careful with whom who you share this new idea about money. And, remember, when we hear negative thoughts from others, WE have the power in our conscious mind to reject those thoughts, and only allow thoughts of abundance to enter our sub-conscious mind. Also, keep in mind your assignment for this week is to read and re-read Chapter 2 - How Much is Enough? Here are the key exercises to complete: * Create a list of your expenses as discussed on page 30. Do not to fill in what you are currently spending, but rather, visualize HOW you want to live, and fill in the amount of money it will cost you to do so. * Life Insurance - if you do not currently have life insurance, make an appointment with an agent to discuss it. * Page 36, do you currently pay yourself first? If not, put this system in place. * Page 37, if you’re in debt, make a list of all your creditors and determine how much each of them will receive once you implement your debt repayment program. If necessary, compose a letter to debtors as shown on page 38. * Do you have a Tax Professional and Financial Planner? If not, set up an appointment to meet with one. Lastly, have fun this week visualizing yourself in the possession of great wealth and begin to think of all the things you would do with all that money and... in your mind, start doing them.
